Underground Utility Surveys

An underground utility mapping is the process of using geophysical techniques to create a digital representation of the underground utilities that are buried beneath the surface.

Through the use of the latest technology, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), the survey creates a highly detailed profile of the ground below the surface. Using Radio Detection and (GPR), we can detect most underground utility services, including Drainage, Gas, Power, Water, Telecommunications, Fibre Optics.

An accurate assessment of underground services is an important stage in the development of a site to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, minimise project planning time and minimise risks associated with the development of the site.

Benefits of carrying out an underground utility survey

A utility survey allows underground utility locations to be marked up on-site or supplied as a CAD drawing integrated with a Topographical (Land) Survey. The failure to identify the locations of buried services before development takes place can result in increased project costs and delays such as re-routing services.

Here are just a few of the other reasons why you need an underground utility survey

  • Helps to minimise the risk of serious health and safety implications before on-site works take place.
  • Helps to identify, trace and map out any major services that are underground
  • Some projects can be carried out with other surveys, including topographical surveys and drainage surveys
  • Enhances confidence prior to excavation works
  • Planned projects are completed more quickly

In order to move forward with your project with confidence, an Underground Utility Survey is the perfect way to ensure there are no surprises that could hinder progress. It also complies to all health and safety regulations, which ensures your company and your employees are following industry best practices.
